This afternoon was very triumphant for me. I unclogged the mother of all clogs in my bathtub! since the Draino I had bought didn't seem to do anything and I didn't want to pay for a drain snake, I made one with a hanger and began my quest! I would post a picture with then caption "I killed the beast", but 1) I figured it would would be socially inappropriate, and 2) PETA may get on my case lest they think I am skewering mice with hangers the days. I am signed up for the summer classes I need, but I am crossing my fingers because currently only 4 or 5 people are enrolled and it takes 8-12 to keep us class running (or else they cancel it). If they cancel these classes, I will not be able to graduate by next spring and consequently will have to wait an entire year before applying to PhD programs (most do not have Spring acceptance). Also, I have discovered that Suffolk does not offer full pay and stipend for the PhD program, so I will not apply here after all. There really is no point in applying to. Place where you have to pay your way when virtually all other program pay you to go! So right now the Unversity of Connecticut and the University of Vermont are my top two choices (in that order). I dont really want to leave Boston, though! I've alread looked at the other schools in the area and they do not offer what I am looking for. I remember Southern Illinois University was one of my top choice before, but I am debating about applying there as I do not particularly want to move to Illinois!

Summer plans

I think I have found the key to updating my blog-- always have some sort of reading that is "required" for class but is not of any use or pertinent to tests/homework that I need to (rather, should) be reading instead of blogging! Oh well, I'd rather tell the world via the Internet that I have officially signed up for summer classes: Crime and Community, Research Methods in Crime and Justice, and Domestic Violence, Abuse, and Neglect! This will lead me to being able to graduate after Spring 2013, so I will need to apply to PhD programs this December to be able to start in the fall of 2013! Time has flown!! I feel like I was just applying to programs! I think I will take a course on the math section of the GRE and retake it this summer too, that should help me get into a good program ( my verbal score was over the top, so technically my cumulative score is in the right range, I'm just flipped from the typical applicant scores). Although, one would think a program would seek to accept students who are out of the ordinary (particularly for Psychology programs :) ).... But alas, PhD programs mean research and research means statistics- ergo the impetus to raise my math scores to appear competent in that area (I say appear because I believe I am competent, but my current score does not necessarily reflect that). Anyway, off I go to read some non-essential material! Alicia

The kinds of sites a visit at 1 in the morning...

So I just have to post this: I think I have found my dream pie!  Coconut-Lime!

Anyone feel like shipping me a pie?? :-)

New Blog!

Hello!

This is going to be my new blog from now on. My website will no longer be used, as it is not going to be offered by Apple anymore, so I might as well go ahead and switch now! Who knows, I might even be more faithful to making posts on this one, seeing as it is so simple! :-)
